Wink Re: 1.0-8174 for Linux x86 released

No luck with my nVidia Corporation NV17 [GeForce4 420 Go] (rev a3). Same problem as above: my Toshiba Satellite 1415-S173 freezes even before the nVidia logo is shown. This happens with different kernels (2.6.13 and 2.6.14 were tested) and is always reproduceable.

Unfortunately, I cannot recover any usable information from my system for, after turning it off and back on, the journalized file system rolls back, so I guess I have not much to offer.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. I am sure that this must be a transition release and a new one will be on its way soon. I will be looking forward to seeing it.

Thank you all folks at nVidia for the nice work.

Cheers,
Waldeck

PS: BTW, I am the proud owner of a ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 7200. Still waiting for the day when it will just work on Linux (TV viewing and capture) -- it is likely that this day will never come though, and I will not buy another ATI card until I then!
