well, there's something else you can do, if you can't manage to get newer drivers to work: somewhere in this forum there's a patch for the older 6629 driver that worked great 'till newer kernels (2.6.14 for me). It should be here with instructions to get it work: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=56926.
