Default buildmeister

For those getting the buildmeister error:
Code:
warning: user buildmeister does not exist - using root
warning: group buildmeister does not exist - using root
warning: user buildmeister does not exist - using root
warning: group buildmeister does not exist - using root
I solved that by downloading, compiling, and installing the module and driver from source vs the rpms. It's not that difficult. You can find instructions in this document:
http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86_4...xNotes4191.pdf

And the source files here:
ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86_40/1.0-4191/

Here's a brief summary:
  1. Download the source files for both the kernel and the driver. (ie NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.tar.gz & NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.tar.gz).
  2. Log out of the desktop and into a bash prompt. Then move to the directory where you put the files and decompress them.
    Code:

    tar xvzf NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.tar.gz
    tar xvzf NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.tar.gz
  3. Move into the NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191 folder and compile and install the module.
    Code:
    make install
  4. Move into the NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191 folder and do the same for it.

That's it, now just configure your XF86Config file.
