Question Will NVIDIA always be behind? (in release dates)

The NV30 will probably be only available to buy at the end of the year (or if anything else goes wrong, next year). This would mean that NVIDIA is behind ATI.
But doesn't both companies have two different teams working on products? This would mean that the team working on NV35 would still finish on time and NVIDIA could have a product release about the same time as they usually have (around 1Q) next year. There are probably a few things to stop them:
If there are still problems with .13 manufacturing.
Would they want to realase a product that is faster than the one they have only just released as the sales of either product would then be low.
But would NVIDIA want to be behind ATI again in releasing their product.

What do you think?
