Default how to center X in the monitor?

When using the nv driver that comes with x.org (in my case, running Fedora Rawhide: xorg-x11-drv-nv-1.0.1.4-1) , my X window is centered perfectly in my Samsung SyncMaster 970p LCD without need for any modeline or other tweaking in xorg.conf.

When using the nvidia driver (1.0-8178), X window is NOT centered. It is shifted to the left about 24 pixels which is extremely annoying.

My monitor has NO physical controls for adjusting the position of the pixels. My PC is a Toshiba Satellite P24-S607 with GeForce FX Go 5200.

Does anyone know how to get the output from the nvidia driver to be centered in the display?
