i have a problem whith my old mobile pc, a Toshiba 1410-801 model. Whith my ubuntu breezy i had no problems. My system was:
1) xorg ver 6.8
2) nvidia driver versione 1.0-7667
and whith the toshiba options in /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia and xorg.conf whith the line
Option "IgnoreEDID" "true"
i had no problems. My problems start when i install ubuntu dapper. The problems are the nvidia drivers version 1.0-8756 because the "IgnoreEDID" option don't have effect. In the readme file, in the DPI section, i have read that the "IgnoreEDID" option became deprecated and that i must use "UseEDID". But that option have a strange effect: the screen is not central and cut. My question is: can i force the mode "1024x768"? There is an option to do that? Thx for risp.
Under mz xorg.con and others files.
