Default Re: nVidia driver 1.0-8178 on FreeBSD 6.0 freezes system

Kind of the same problem here: using freebsd-6.1-release (6.0 release showed the same
problems) on a MSI K8T Neo2 (Via k8t800pro chipset) using Geforce 6600. I get system
freezes from time to time which let me refuse to do my work.
I am using xinerama (twinview shows the same problems), have a kernel w/o 'device agp'
line running. I told Xorg to use nvidias AGP driver (NvAGP "1") but it obviously doesn't.

hw.nvidia.agp.card.rates: 8x 4x
hw.nvidia.agp.card.fw: supported
hw.nvidia.agp.card.sba: supported
hw.nvidia.agp.card.registers: 0xff000e1b:0x00000000
hw.nvidia.agp.status.status: disabled
hw.nvidia.agp.status.driver: n/a (unused)
hw.nvidia.agp.status.rate: n/a (disabled)
hw.nvidia.agp.status.fw: n/a (disabled)
hw.nvidia.agp.status.sba: n/a (disabled)
hw.nvidia.version: NVIDIA FreeBSD x86 Kernel Module 1.0-8756 Wed Mar 29 15:22:41 PST 2006

Using FreeBSDs AGPGart driver seems to even be worse. As it is now I get around 1500
fps in glxgears and X freezes often. The logs don't show any information regarding these
freezes but lines like this when freezing:
NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 2, CCMDs 00000000 0000004d 00000214 06f40000 00000006
NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 3, C 00000002 SC 00000005 M 000002fc Data 00000001

X logs only mention that X was told to use the nv AGP driver but there is no validation that
it's indeed doing so.

I would be very happy if anyone had any idea.

thanks in advance
