Default Forcing Monitor Power Save Mode?

Is there a program or a hot-key or something to put my monitor into power save mode? The loud gong noise that CRTs make is pretty irritating and with my new works hours, i'll be turning my monitor on and off some times during the night when everyone is trying to sleep. I'd rather not make all that noise. That and the monitor warms up faster from sleep mode than from being off.

I read that monitors use a tiny TINY fraction of the wattage in power save mode (something like 1\100th of the normal wattage) so there really isnt much reason to even turn it off.

I have my power save timer set to 10 minutes but when I want to get to sleep, I'd rather just have the screen off.

There has to be some way to make a monitor go into sleep mode with a program or hot key but I havent had any luck finding anything. If anyone knows how I could do this, let me know.

EDIT: Duh... it took me like 10 seconds to find a program that does this...

I searched for like 20 minutes the other day and found nothing.

Well if anyone else wants to do this, try this program.

EDIT2:

WOW!!! Thats so freaking cool! You dont even have to install anything. You just stick the program somewhere, and make shortcuts to it with different command line switches. "wizmo.exe -monoff" makes all monitors go into standby. I stuck it in my start menu and it works perfectly! Just one click and bam, standby mode. Shake the mouse and it comes right on.

This is a hell of a program with a ton of other cool features.
