Default Vista EULA to forbid multi monitor environments ?

Take a look at paragraph 3C

http://download.microsoft.com/docume...3f722371fa.pdf

Odd indeed, unless it's a scheme to sell additional licenses for worstations serving multiple monitors (and more users at a time)

What does that have to do with multiple monitors?

The whole phrase is vague and difficult to give a proper meaning... While the software is running, you may use but not share its icons, images, sounds

Without the underlined premise, it would simply means the Eula forbids to redistribute or incorporate in other software Vitsa icons and media. Fair and right. But while running... ?!?

The sentence would make sense if we think that it's possible to set up a multiple monitor environment to allow two (or more) users working on the same PC. For example, have you ever watched a DVD on the TV connected to the PC while a relative is browsing the internet ? You're sharing, in a certain way, Vista media resources but you're paying for a single user license and, thus, Microsoft is not happy.

My interpretation might be plain wrong but, atm, I cannot find anything else that would explain that phrase.

That's already covered elsewhere in the EULA. Only one user is allowed to use it at a time.

I wouldn't worry about using multiple monitors. Microsoft isn't that stingy. I don't believe paragraph 3c refers to that anyway. It probably just another way of saying don't redistribute icons and stuff. Although look at WindowsX and Vista Transformation Pack. If Microsoft allows that to go on, then I hightly doubt they're concerned about you and your multi-monitor setup.

That is a pretty silly acusation. If this were the case they would just remove multi-monitor support. Problem solved.

Why would they put it there and then say "oh, well don't use it." Thats just plain retarded.
