I got two copies of the game, An original boxed unused copy and a rereleased EA boxed one which I use. I bought these when they were still available at EB so I really didn't pay much (original price and then 29.99 for the EA version).

Yeah if you want to just play the game you're probably looking at around $15-$20 (shipped) for a used copy of the game in a jewel case with no manual.

Where have I said everyone is me? I'm merely suggesting it to him since he seem unwilling to pay the 40-45$ for a retail/good state 2nd hand copy of SS2, then CapnKill suggests "$15-$20 (shipped) for a used copy of the game in a jewel case with no manual.", now how would that be so much better than just having it from a torrent, and I don't see a moral problem since he's (allegedly) already payed license for the game once?

Just trying to help here..

I'm the same way

I was just assuming all the time that you have bought/owned SS2 in the past (hence having paid the license for it once), because 99% of all people how show that much interest in SS2 at this point do, that's just my experience

When you purchased it you gained the license to play it but once you nolonger own a copy of the game you no longer have the license/right to play it.

By your claim I can go to a store buy a new game at 49.99, return it a day later and go download it since at one point in time I owned the game...

No. By my claim you can buy a game, throw away the CD, burn the manual, trample the CD case, slice the package, and you'd still have the moral rights to that intellectual property, i.e. in order to reacquire the game, you could either pay for new materials for the game (CD, case, manual etc.), though not the game itself OR download it illegally off the internet - that is perfectly justifiable in my opinion. If you have returned the game or sold it, that's another story..
