Default Redhat 8.0, 4191, Quadro4 900XGL - bad blits?

I jsut got a new Dell Percision with the above mentioned Quadro -- I know not many people have such hardware (it's for research, I can't aford it! ) but I hope someone has a clie what's going on.
Periodicaly, after moving a window around or runnning gkrellm or jsut about anyhting, parts of the desktop turn into trash, pieces of windows that aren't there and such. I'd post my configs, but I beleive they are factory.. if you want them let me know.
Attempting to install newer drivers made video not work... so I'll wait on that and hope someone know what's going on.
