Default SteelSecurity for the hardcore gamer.

Mmmmm I bumped in to this today. Anyone here have anything good or bad to say about SteelSecurity? I'm a bit weary of but it looks pretty good. I need to get rid of zone alarm.

"SteelSecurity is a suite of applications put together into a single interface. It is aimed at the hardcore gamer who wants his/her computer secure while not having it eat away precious resources while gaming, either offline or online."

It's nothing more than a re-skinned BullGuard, which is owned by Zone Labs, which makes Zone Alarm...

Mmmm, had no idea they were all the same people. Thanks for the info man. I'll hold off on anything for now. I do like the idea of a security system tailored to gamers that takes min resources.

I have the zone alarm suite and never noticed any kind of hit to my PC's performance. In fact compared to Symantic and McAffe, I find it to be far better.

McAfee is a great program, but man can it get annoying. It works great for an office pc that I don't do anything on, but forget about doing anything with the pc, because it will deny or delete everything. I have to run NOD32 on my other work pc cause I can't get anything done.

I'm not too fond of this idea of having to set up profiles for every game. I already have to do this far too often with my SLI setup..

The thought of having popup messages every time I launch a new game or app makes me cringe..

Kerio also has a boat load of DoS and other security vulnerabilities:

Including a recent (10/17/2006) DoS relating to a malformed DNS packet.
