Default Re: No 3d TNT2 Ubuntu

Does this problem persist if you install the official NVIDIA driver package instead of Ubuntu's packaging?

Okey... here is the status...

On the unbuntu forum i got the awnser how to bring up my 3d... works now...

I had to put

Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Disable"
EndSection

in the xorg file cause the driver is not compatible with composite...

BUT....

it may work but it is far from good or even excelent...

3d runs slow (may be cause it is an old card) and the CPU goues 100% when 3d screensaver runs and i move the mouse....

How about that one?

thx..

JB

P.S. Have not tryed to install the nvidia drivers - is there actually a diference?
