Unhappy Problem with RHEL4 and NVIDIA 1.0-9629

I just install driver 1.0-9629 on a new computer with all update. (RHEL4 WS U4)
X session start well with the new driver, but openGL seem not working.

glxgears crash.
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I come back with version 1.0-8776 and all work well.

This is a known bug which impacts NV2x GPUs. It will be resolved in a future driver release. The current workaround is to downgrade to 1.0-9626 or 1.0-8776.

Thanks,
Lonni

How can you release a driver when it has such a nasty *known* bug, and not only this one, as I saw on the forum there are a dozen which are "*known* bug".
And how come that the new huge bugfix release introduces more bugs then fixes then the last released version.

A shame, damn shame.

Thank you, Xid (btw you've never fixed this bug also, oh noez how unexpected).

You need to include a warning/notice message for NV2x GPU owners in the driver release page!

I will have to agree with the previous post though. The driver shouldn't have been released with such a bug. It's the first time I see the beta version of an upcoming product release to work and not the release version itself.

No? Where have you been? Microsoft do it all the time since 1983
