I'm running Mandrake Linux 9.1 on a Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop with an nVidia GeForce 2 Go adapter. How can I resize the viewable area so that I don't have a huge black border around the screen?

Modify the XF86Config file so that your laptop's native resolution is the first resolution specified in the Modes line of the display subsection of the screen section.
