Basic Question: Can I set up Twinview AND TV-out at the same time, in the same xorg.conf?

You can setup Twinview where one of the two displays is the TV.

okay. So the S-VIDEO out on the laptop cannot be configured for possible use as a TV out for viewing DVDs, while the VGA port at the back of the machine is configured to use Twinview for an external monitor (such as using for powerpoint presentations). I would NOT want to use both at the same time; but rather either/or, depending on what is plugged in. This was able to be done under windowsXP, so I was wondering whether this was done mainly by MS software, as opposed to the nVidia driver. -CH |

No, the nvidia X driver only supports two display devices per GPU.
