Left Screen Blank after resume???

Hello,

Everything works fine until I leave my system for a long time and monitors blank. I move my mouse and only the right display comes back on. ctrl + Alt + Backspace will fix it but I hate doing it. I am afraid to leave unsaved work on this system. I have ACPI=no in my grub conf

Any Ideas???

RedHat WS4 x64bit

Nvidia Driver 1.0-9629 x86_64
2 Dell 19inch DFP connected via DVI
Nvidia 550 PCI Express
Dell Precision Pro 490 with only 1 CPU installed
4 GB Ram

Why are you disabling ACPI support? Does this problem persist if ACPI isn't disabled?

Please generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log while this problem is present.

The problem was present before disabling the ACPI I did that to see if I could force it not to blank monitors. I will post a bug report in a min

This looks like it might be a known issue with the firmware in some Dell flatpanels.

If you swap the DVI connectors on the graphics card where the two displays are connected, does the problem follow the display or the DVI connector?

Does this problem persist if you run "xset -dpms" ?
Does this problem also reproduce with an older or newer (1.0-9642) driver?

xset -dpms seems to fix the problem. How can I set this automatically when X is started??

You could try adding the command to ~/.xinitrc, however that would only take effect once the user had logged into X.
