Default 9629: Wrong refresh rate at OpenGL game

Hello,

since I installed the new Nvidia driver (9629), I have the following refresh rate related problem: My desktop uses 1152x864@100hz as resolution, I had to add a modeline to /etc/X11/xorg.conf to activate this refresh rate (so it is the only one I can use with this resolution in gnome-display-properties). When I run now the fullscreen OpenGl game Warcraft 3 (with Wine) at exactly the same resolution (and colour depth) the refresh rate switches back to 85 hz. This only happens with the current driver version, with the old one (8776) the game uses 100 hz as it should. Since lower refresh rates make me dizzy when I have to stare at the screen for a longer time, I would like to ask if there is a way to solve this issue.
I already found out that I can "force" 100 hz for the game when I add the line
Option "VertRefresh" "100"
to the Device section in the xorg.conf file. But this is also no really good solution, because then I can't activate any higher resolutions (sometimes this is necessary for a short time).

My system is Ubuntu Edgy AMD64 (with X.org 7.1), my graphic card is a Geforce 7600GS. I have attached the nvidia-bug-report and my xorg.conf below.

Kind regards,
Jan

Does this problem persist if you're not ignoring the EDID of your CRT?

I am having the same problem too with the last drivers (9629) and a Kubuntu Edgy AMD64.
If I open nvidia-settings I can set the right refresh (1280x1024@85Hz) rate but the settings are not saved if I restart X

Any thoughts?

write the settings to your xorg from within nvidia's settings.
