Default cant configure 1024x768

I've had my PC for a couple of years now. Up until last weekend I was running Suse 9.2 with the Nvidia graphics driver. I typically ran the monitor at 1024x768.

Last weekend I installed Suse 10.1 and NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9629-pkg1.run. Now I find I can't seem to configure 1024x768 anymore. The monitor is currently running at 1152x864 and does so fine, but if I try to set it to 1024x768, it ends up coming up at 1024x600.

The monitor is a Viewsonic P95f+, which according to Viewsonic should be able to run at up to 2048x1536. See:

If this is not true, what is the max resolution I should be able to run it at?
Sorry if my questions seem stupid, configuring video drivers is not my forte.

The motherboard is an ASUS A7N8X-VM/400 UAY. AMD processor.

When I run nvidia-bug-report.sh, the resulting nvidia-bug-report.log contains the following:

(WW) NVIDIA(0): Insufficient memory bandwidth for MetaMode "1024x768";
(WW) NVIDIA(0): discarding.
(WW) NVIDIA(0): No valid modes for "1024x768"; removing.

Yet the same hardware with the old driver and distro ran 1024x768 fine.

Any clues as to how I can correct this or why this should be happening.

nvidia-bug-report.log.zip is attached. Run:

unzip nvidia-bug-report.log.zip

to unpack original bug report file.

I'd suggest either commenting out all of your modelines, and/or requesting the following modes:
"1024x768_85" "1024x768_75"

Thanks for the prompt reply. Commenting out the lines in /etc/X11/xorg.conf that began with Modeline, like so:

# Modeline "1024x768" 161.66 1024 1104 1216 1408 768 769 772 832

solved the problem. Now I can select 1024x768 just fine.
