hard crash in dapper while playing Warcraft
hey all, this is driving me insane. I've tried everything I can think of. Here's whats going on:
When I play WoW or other games in linux, after about 15 minutes the computer locks up and becomes unresponsive. I have to hit the reset button to get the computer to reboot. Here's the specs of the computer:
P4 3e ghz, 1ghz ram.
eVGA 7800 GS OC 256mb. Not overclocked.
Ubuntu Dapper Drake running the 2.6.15-25-686 kernel.
Here's what I've tried:
Got a bigger, better power supply. Have a Ultra Xconnect 500w.
upgraded from Breezy to Dapper.
Re-installed WoW and Cedega.
Tried several different driver versions including:
7667, 8174, 8756, and currently using the 8762 Dapper release.
All with the same results. This did not happen until I upgraded from the 5900XT card.
anyone have sugestions? Is there a way for me to test the card to see if it's okay?
Please help! I'm going crazy trying to figure this out.

Re: hard crash in dapper while playing Warcraft
The same problem here
World of Warcraft random freeze.
MS Win Xp sp2
GF 7900 GT GV-NX79T255DP-RH
PSU 560 Watt Chieftec
All drivers - latest, no o/c. I was trying all, reinstall all, new/old drivers etc.
Only way to make my game run normal is to add "-opengl" to WoW.exe (7-14 fps but game is stable, no freeze).
I don't know what can i do
