i have the same problem...but with the 32bit Ubuntu-Distros (first with dapper and now with edgy eft)

My mainboard is ASRock K8NF6G-VSTA. I have installed the newest alsa (1.0.13) and NFORCE Linux driver, but nothing happens . After the upgrade to Edgy Eft i can use "nv" as driver and not the "vesa", but "nvidia" isn't working. With dapper was not possible to use "nv" and "nvidia"

Here my lspci

buFka,
This thread is about audio & networking, not graphics. I'd suggest starting a new thread with an nvidia-bug-report.log which captures the problem you're reporting.

Thanks,
Lonni

And what does "but nothing happens" mean exactly? Specifically which drivers & versions did you install?

@buFka
Which kernel has you?
Try to install kernel = or > 2.6.18.3
Those work fine in my system (ubuntu Edgy 6.10 - PC with MCP61 nvidia chip)
bye

Talking Re: Ubuntu: no NIC, no sound card detected in my system with Geforce 6100 nForce 405

i have installed

Linux nForce Drivers, Version: 1.11 (SuSe10 rpm package was transformed to deb)
newest alsa-driver 1.0.13
newest alsa-lib 1.0.13
newest alsa-utils 1.0.13

I have read some threads for setting up ALC883 Soundcard and RTL8201CL Networkcard, but without any success.

I will try to upgrade the kernel to 2.6.18...i hope, this help me.

Thanks a lot,
buFka
