Default 7900GT 256MB, low res textures.

I have a problem with textures and my 7900GT, they all end up low res

This happens with all drivers I've tried.

I assume this isn't normal. Any known solutions?

If not, how do I find out what's wrong?

Please generate and post an nvidia-bug-report.log along with details on how this problem can be detected & reproduced.

Thanks,
Lonni

Textures are low resolution, and grainy, even with textures turned up to maximum in game.

See this screenshot for example - grainy ground texture: http://jzono1.ath.cx/lowres.png

Is this problem only present in that one game?
Was this problem present in 1.0-8774 as well?

It's present in all games that use high res textures, from what I can tell. I got it in ut2k4, nfs:most wanted, oblivion, guildwars, prey, and possibly others too.

And yes, it was present with earlier drivers.

No, I'm afraid that I don't have any suggestions, as I'm not able to reproduce this problem here.

Could mtrr problems have anything to do with this?

On 32bit kernels, my mtrrs are "odd"

jo@crashforsk ~ $ cat /proc/mtrr

Yesterday I once again tried to find out more about this issue. I tried the doom3 demo, both native and under cedega. Native games have full res textures, under cedega they don't.
I've also changed distro from last time i tried to fix it. Now I'm on ubuntu.

Here's a few comparison screenshots: http://jzono1.ath.cx/d3-pics/
