When switching back and forward to a console from X makes the pc hang. I'm using the latest nvidia drivers (the stable ones) and Ubuntu 6.10 with beryl 0.13. It happened to me in gentoo too.
Randomly, when switching back from a console to X the pc hangs with a black screen. The mouse pointer is still visible and working (it moves at least) but no key response, no nothing. If you could help me it would be really apreciatted! |

Does the pc actually hang? I have a keyboard shortcut that replaces compiz (it has the same problem as beryl) with kwin. When I press that shortcut while looking at the black screen, everything comes back.
I can restart compiz then and am back to where I was. It's a hassle still, but there's no actual hang. |

Im going to try this... but i doubt it is going to work... the keyboard seems totally hanged up... pressing num lock, caps locks, etc doesnt toggles the leds... alt+ctrl+fx doesnt work either.
Any way to this other problem, is there any fix or workaround(question mark) |
