No luck installing nVidia drivers on Fedora C 6

Hey Guys,

I'm having a totally headache trying to install the new drives for my nVidia card on Fedora Core 6. I've tried just about every method out there with out luck.

When I run the installer, it asks me to disable X first. But when i run the init 3 command, and then the installer says something about GCC. Ahh!

So then I tried using Yum running
yum install kmod-nvidia

Which gives me the error:

Whats the deal? I don't get a nvidia logo on start up, and Shake is running sooo slow so im assuming it isnt installed.

Any ideas?

I think it's a Fedora installer bug, it installs the wrong kernel see :
