I bought the 360 premium and have not had any issues at all.

I've also read reviews where they've said the 360 is loud. I haven't found it loud at all. Maybe those were the initial batch. Mine seems pretty silent.

The 360 is loudest when the disc drive spins up, but it doesn't get any louder than that.

I forgot that. I'd have never enjoyed Saint's Row as much as I did if it wasn't for the bug crushing patch of recent.

It also depends how far away from the console you are. Thanks to my big TV and wireless controllers I'm far enough away I can't hear my 360 at all. When I played it on holidays at Mums her spare room TV is a tiny 17in LCDTV, so I was pretty close and had to resort to headphones to block out the fans (Remember new 360s have a fan in the power brick to add to the noise).

All the 360 power bricks have mini fans in them. Just put your hand over the small exhaust vents and you'll notice the air flow.

Yes you should. Some good games on it, Vegas, Gears of War, GRAW, and great upcoming ones. Halo 3, Mass Effect, GRAW 2. And get the Premium one, the Core package is crap.

Tony.

How big are the patches you are downloading??? I have 12 games now, all updated to the latest version AFAIK, and still have lots of room on my mem card.

The dashboard updates are not added to the mem card or HDD but rather to some internal flash memory.

Extra maps and add-ons of course may take up more room, but I haven't really worried myself with them either!

That is a good question, I really have no idea how large the updates are. But obviously they can't be that big if they fit on your memory card just fine.

Additional maps and content of course can vary.

Of note you also need a hard drive if you decide to get the HDDVD player addon.

Nor does mine, but it does get pretty warm even in the airy place it rests.
