Hello,
I have a M2NPV-VM (Geforce 6150 On-board) connected to Samsung LCD Panel (32") with a cable DVI-HDMI. The version of nvidia drivers is v1.0-8756. It happens, with the resolution 1280x720, some lines lines of the screen are out of the display. I just cannot see them. I have tried to make some changes on the xorg.conf (DisplaySize) but without success. The only resolution I can choose for the drivers GUI is 1280x720. (nvida-settings). Does anyone know how can I resize the screen to fit in the Display??? Thanks, IF |

1.0-8756 is no longer supported. If this problem persists with 1.0-9746, please start X with the following command:
startx -- -logverbose 6 and then generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log thanks, Lonni |

Hello,
I have upgrade the driver to the last version but the problem still exists... I send you the file, but... one thing that may be interesting, is that the problem exists even without starting X. When I boot the PC, I have immediatly the problem of the screen being too large... The bios menu does not fit totally in the display. any help is welcome.. IF |

This bug report is against the 'nv' X driver, and not the nvidia X driver. Which driver reproduces the problem you reported?

It looks like you're requesting a 1024x768 mode even though your display isn't capable of that mode, natively.

I have removed this mode and left only 1280x720 but the problem still remains.

You probably are talking about "overscan".
That is a problem of the TV, not the card or the driver. Many TVs do not show part of the picture. This is not a problem when using it as a TV but may be a problem when you want to use it as a monitor. You could ask the manufacturer, but please note that this "overscan" is part of the TV standards so most TVs do have it and offer no option to turn it off. |

Thanks for the info, I will ask the manufacturer about this.
One other thing when I select 800x600 with "centered" mode I do not have this problem, I can see the whole in screen in the TV... |

BTW is there any way to eliminate the overscan?
It would be fine if through the driver we could compensate it... |
