Default 32bit on 64bit kernel

Is there a way to use the linux nvidia drivers with a 32 bit userspace and 64 bit kernel?

Yes, this is expected to work correctly (i.e. a 32-bit X driver and 32-bit OpenGL applications with a 64-bit kernel module).

I see, thanks. So which driver am I supposed to use? The x86_64 one and uninstall all 32bit ones?

Well the kernel module builds ok but it doesn't know where to install the 32bit compatibility libraries, complaining of a lack of emul directory structure. This is a pure 32bit userspace, not a chroot 32 on 64 setup. I don't see any command line arguments to tell it to install on an ordinary 32 bit userspace. Or I should say I don't really understand how to set it up since it is a 32bit userspace only.

I think with the current installer, you'll probably have to install just the kernel module, then extract the -pkg2.run package and move the 32-bit binaries to their intended location manually.

Ah ok. Well I downloaded both the 32bit and 64 bit drivers, installed the driver without a kernel module from the 32bit one and installed just the module from the 64bit and that worked. Convoluted, but it works as fortunately they're the same version number. Thanks.
