Default HDMI cables

I'm looking to order one from Monoprice (before 7a PST also, so it ships today) and I want to make sure this is the right one/one that will work:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...ormat=2&style=

I've never seen this 22, 24, 26, 28 awg stuff...so this cable will work fine, correct?

it doesn't say what version of HDMI it is, and you didn't say what version of HDMI you are needing to hook up. if it is 1.2, you should be good even if you have 1.0-1.1 hardware as far as I know

Well, my HD-A2 is HDMI 1.2 and I'm going to assume the Westinghouse LTV-32W6 is HDMI 1.2 as well.

I guess the only real question I had was about the 28 AWG or whatever. What does that mean? And is higher better?

I went ahead and ordered it after reading the specs and a few customer reviews. I can't see why it wouldn't work. And form what I gathered, the 28 AWG is a thinner cable.

I'm a little pissed...I totally forgot to look for optical audio cables so not only did I not get one on this order, but I have to pay shipping all over again, too.

But I suppose $10 for an HDMI shipped and another $10 for an optical shipped is a hell of a lot better than $40 for a Monster 800 HDMI with my roommate's best buy discount.

Yeah, that seems like the gauge of the wire (just like speaker wires).

Thanks for the link. I Googled "24 awg" and just got a bunch of products...no explanation. Talk about downright n00bishness.

awg = American wire gauge

Larger number = smaller diameter wire = more Resistance = bad
Smaller number = larger diameter wire = less Resistance = good

Also remember the difference in metal used will increase or decrease the resistance over the distance as well

Another thing to remember is the RF signal runs over the wire not through it as many people think.
