Default nVidia + Beryl + 2.6.20-rc6 kernel = kernel panic

Hi all,

I've got an HP dv6000z laptop (AMD sempron), and have just upgraded to the 2.6.20-rc6 kernel because of an acpi bug fix.

I've been running beryl with my old kernel (2.6.17-ubuntu edgy kernel) just fine, but finally decided to upgrade.

But now, when i run X, and run beryl, at random intervals, the system locks up completely (ctrl+alt+F1 or whatever doesn't work). And the capslock light is blinking, which I understand means "kernel panic". So, now i'm here.

I'm running Beryl, and ubuntu edgy, with the 2.6.20-rc6 kernel (built myself). I've got the 1.0-9746 x86_64 nvidia driver.

I've also found this snippet in my logs (specifically kern.log)

Code:

Default Re: nVidia + Beryl + 2.6.20-rc6 kernel = kernel panic

That's OK, but none of it applies to me...

I want to make sure that it is an nvidia bug and not a beryl bug before I actuallly post one.
