Hi there! Please forgive me as I am a newbie, but I'll do as much research as I can before posting!
Anyway, I recently moved to SuSE Linux 8.2 from Windows XP and I am loving it. I just bought a Hauppage WinTV PVR 250 device and installed it. Linux automatically recognized and installed the MPEG2 encoder portion of the card, but it did not recognize the PVR device in the "TV Cards" section despite a driver ostensibly being there for the PVR. I've manually installed the card, but none of the applications (MainActor, KWinTV, others) claim /dev/video0 does not exist so I don't think the card's drivers are loading. I ran Hardware Information to determine which hardware was being recognized. Sure enough, I saw the MPEG2 encoder, but not the TV Tuner card itself. I've read the card does work under Linux, and I am anxious to use MainActor ASAP. Any help I could get on getting the card recognized would be great. Thanks!

Last I checked, the Linux drivers for the PVR250 didn't support it as a "regular" TV tuner yet. Hopefully they'll fix that soon. Until then, you'll need to watch the driver's web site for news.
