nvidia freezes at black screen

i downloaded 1.0-9746 run file and installed it no errors came up. had installer modify xorg.conf file. then restarted to shell. when i started /etc/init.d/gdm computer went to black screen and froze only option is to restart.
no xorg.0.log file is created
here is nvidia-installer log
will post nvidia-bug-report but log shows nv is the module loaded. nvidia module was loaded at the time of the black screen

As you noted this bug report shows that X is using the nv X driver, not the nvidia X driver. You'll need to attach a bug report that captures the problem with the nvidia X driver.

how do i get a nvidia-bug-report log to show nvidia insted of nv if i can't do anything after i start gdm
the one i posted was done after restart
compuer is set to boot to shell

Have you verified that you're using the latest motherboard BIOS?

bios is up to date now but it did not work. I tried reinstalling after bios was up dated. Did not fix the problem .
