Problem I stopped X and then tried running the startx command you gave me and got this error. I was out of X in the command prompt when I issued the command.

Should the nvidia-settings command allow me to adjust screen resolution and refresh rate??? Mine only lets me adjust Digital Vibrance and Image Sharpening...
