Problems with 2.6.20 and SLI

Hi Everyone,

I have some problems after upgrading from kernel 2.6.18 to 2.6.20. After the upgrade my SLI Cards don´t work in SLI mode.
Here the output of my /var/log/xorg.log

The error is very funny, because both cards are exact the same.
lspci:

I use the latest nvidia driver 9749. And as I told before, with the 2.6.18 everything is working fine. But I need to use the 2.6.20 kernel, because I need the new ALSA version included in 2.6.20.

Any Ideas?

Actually, what is needed is an nvidia-bug-report.log, which you did not attach.

This looks like a PCI bus /proc/mtrr problem (potentially specific to your hardware). If you look at the bug report you attached you'll see the the memory ranges that are defined for each of the two cards are different. One has 256MB, while the other is getting 1GB (which looks wrong):

This isn't an nvidia driver bug, its an issue somewhere in the kernel and/or BIOS of the motherboard you're using.

OK. I see the problem.

I forget to compile mtrr to the kernel.
But it was useless. The memory is still false deteced.

I also upgraded my BIOS (MB is ASUS M2N32-SLI DELUXE) to the newest version, but no change. Strange, because with an older kernel (2.6.18) everything is running fine...

Has anybody an running .config for 2.6.20 and enabled SLI?

Here is the Solution:

don´t use the latest nvidida driver (9746),
but the older one 9631.

The different output of memory by lspci still happens, but the driver does not care...
