The latest drivers (1.0-9746) told me to use one of the legacy drivers (1.0.96xx) with my GeForce-3 Ti. I tried both 1.0-9631 and 1.0-9629, and either of those drivers give me crazy colors - like back in 8 bit times. It's 24 bit depth allright (checked with xdpyinfo), but it's the wrong colors. Trying to adjust gamma with the nvidia-settings didn't help, either.
Going back even further to the 1.0-8776 driver fixed the problem for me. Hi there.
I'm so glad and relieved I found this post! I've been having this exact problem with my GeForce3 Ti 500 running on a Dell 8200, using a Dell 1702FP with DVI and had installed the latest driver. I'm using Ubuntu Edgy 6.10. I'm also new to using Linux, so trying to figure this out has been quite a challenge. Now, just figuring out how to install the older driver will be a new challenge. Ah well. |

Hi,
I also got the same problem like you and I found another thread where this problem is discussed. -> http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=77816 The first workaround is that you use the analog connector instead of the dvi connector. or if you don't need the 3D-acceleration then use the oss-nv-driver. I'm not happy about these workarounds. At the moment i use the 1.0-9631 driver (openSuse 10.2 rpm) with analog-connector on my Samsung SyncMaster 940BF and a Gefoce Ti 200. |

**BUMP**
Are there any updates to this issue?? I have to use analog instead of DVI connection, which is a pain. Thanks! |
