Well I suppose for the average consumer this could be kinda good:

'Bout damned time. And it plays CDs which is a plus, I guess.
 I really, really, REALLY don't want to, but I'm starving for HD movies and BD keeps getting releases I'd really like to see. I may have to cave and buy a player...eventually.  This is making it easier to swallow, I guess. |

Except that I refuse to use a gaming console as the sole video playback device in my home theater and that I don't have much interest in console gaming to begin with.

I bet Sony is just crying their eyes out because they are having to make a new player that won't get them as much money as they really want.
What about the LG dual format player? Anyone see that in the Best Buy sale ad this week? |
