Exactly, two great technologies go hand in hand togeather!

iam still on a 4800 x2.

i don't plan on a upgrade until the middle of summer sometime. right now it's still "getting the job done" in games so why bother.

besides, i still have my credit card to pay off from the last system build and subsequent hardware failiure nightmares

i think even a stock e6600 would crush it in gaming..... i went from good old winchester 3000+ @ 2.62ghz to a e6400 @ 3.5ghz (24/7 clock) during christmas

4200+ X2 still. @ the resolutions and settings I typically play at (1920x1080, 4xAA/8xAF) the video card is still typically significantly more important a player than my CPU.

I will do a core upgrade once DDR3 hits.

I just upgraded my HTPC from a Socket A 1.2 ghz to an E6400 Conroe, Asrock 775 Dual-VSTA.

Video encodes will be much faster. Going to try some ffdshow post processing, now.
