Hi all,
I have recieved my new Dell Latitude C840 and have installed Suse 8.1 with no problems. I just cant get the 3D acceleration to work. I have looked on various web sites who all point to downloading the NVIDIA_kernel*rpm and NVIDIA_GLX*rpm files. I have downloaded them and installed them without an issue. I have loaded up the XF86Config file and changed the nv option to nvidia. When I reboot the machine it basically doesn't work. Can anyone please help. I attache my XF86Config and the output of the 3Ddiag ----------------------------------------------------- 3Ddiag version 0.496 Verifying 3D configuration: Using 3dinfo ************************************************** ********** Verifying 3D configuration based on XFree86 4 for 3D board "nVidia Corporation GeForce4 440 Go (10de@0174)": Tests for package "NVIDIA_GLX": package ... done. ======================= !!! well, the 3DDiag did say upgrade!!! and you should now use the new installer, although I'm not sure with the Suse distro, there is something special about that and I'm not familiar with it...
