Ok, I commented those lines, and restarted X. The LCD had some weird colors growing from the bottom of the screen, but no picture of any type. The CRT still said no signal.

Is the CRT being used in the X log? Have you verified that you're using the latest BIOS?

According to the X log, it's loading the CRT and working properly. According to Toshiba, I have the latest BIOS revision.

This appears to be specific to your notebook. Unfortunately, I don't have this notebook here to reproduce this problem.

WORKAROUND:
Go into the BIOS, and change "Bootup Display" from "Auto-Select" to "Both". Then make sure the VGA cable is connected, and boot as normal. Twinview, Xinerama, etc. will work properly. |
