Default Re: nvidia 1.0.9631 with kernel 2.6.20-rc6

Well I've succesfully been able to install the 2.6.20 kernel with the latest drivers by disabeling the following in the .config file:

CONFIG_HIGHPTE (and/or CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT) and CONFIG_PARAVIRT

Zander thanks a lot this worked for me!

I'm now trying out KVM

Hi Zander,

I've followed this thread and the nVIDIA module works fine with just a small glitch of the following message when the module is loaded:

**WARNING** I2C adapter driver [NVIDIA i2c adapter 0 at 1:00.0] forgot to specify physical device; fix it!
**WARNING** I2C adapter driver [NVIDIA i2c adapter 1 at 1:00.0] forgot to specify physical device; fix it!
**WARNING** I2C adapter driver [NVIDIA i2c adapter 2 at 1:00.0] forgot to specify physical device; fix it!

The nvidia module I'm using is 9746

@riteshsarraf: this should be fixed in future driver releases; the warning should be harmless, though.

Is this ever going to be fixed?

I am using kernel 2.6.20 under Fedora Core 6 and the nvidia 9631 drivers no longer work for my GF4 Ti 4600 board.

This is very frustrating -- particularly since the problem seems to have been known for several months already!

I really don't want to recompile my kernel to fix it -- that is why I use a 'distro' rather than rolling it all from scratch....

My apologies -- my problem ended up being with the mouse drivers
