You are thinking of the PC6400C4D memory, PC8500+ uses micron.

no, some 8500C5 modules used different chips, the 8500C5Ds are handpicked micron.

I was going to get the Striker but it was sold out, and I have settled with the EVGA one, and ever since ive had it, no problems ever and I don't regret getting this mobo
