How do you control monitor gamma in Linux? This is for all Linux platforms, not necessarily the ia64.

Use the tool "xgamma" which is included with xfree86. The values you used can be put in the XF86Config file later.

It looks like xgamma is good for controlling gamma on different displays (which is useful), but I also need to know how to completely disable gamma on a display, in particular the DVI output of a video card. SGI wrote a nogamma routine for us that allows us to turn gamma off on their DVP output, can we do the same on a PC under Linux?
