Default vista and my sound

hi all ive been having some probs with vista yesterday when i play a mp3 the sound goes a bit poppy and click or garblilled.
could it be some updates that i have installed ?
its really annoying its the same when i play games like fear oblivion as well..

can anyone help please...

is anyone esle havin the same probs as me
ive uninstalled my graphics drivers creative drivers and still no luck.

using xp for the time being because i dont have the problem in xp...

Hi scubes, you might want to list what parts you have in your system, that will let people see what kind of computer parts you are running which will aid us on trying to figure out what is going on. What I could get you are using a Creative Labs sound card under Vista. You might want to go to the Creative Labs forum there is a lot of info there about Creative sound cards running under Vista. But I can tell you reading the forum over at Creative, you are not the only one having problems.

I have a very similar system as yours, and I had the same problem. I solved it by turning off Cool nQuiet and CMSS 3D in Audigy Control Panel. Also, make sure you have the latest drivers from CL. Also, try setting the Vista Power Management profile to Performance and not to save energy.

cheers for the replys ppl my power management is performance this only started to go like this yesterday .now ive been xp all day and no problems wot so ever. i used cmss 3d all the time ive maybe installed something that vista didnt like probably ...thanks for the replys again...
