Default Java opengl support with 100.14.03 driver broken

I run all java programs with the option -Dsun.java2d.opengl=true for opengl acceleration in swing gui.

With the driver 100.14.03 java programs are very slow with a lot of graphic corruption (white squares or unreadable texts).

With the old 1.0-9755 driver works it great.

Specifically which java programs reproduce this?

Also, please generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log.

Thanks,
Lonni

The opengl swing gui acceleration works well from sun java 6.0 (1.6.0). I use never version of 64bit java (6.0u1)

The problem occurs with all swing programs started with the option -Dsun.java2d.opengl=true f.ex.:

- netbeans (www.netbeans.org)
after installation the config file (<NETBEANS_INSTALL_DIR>/etc/netbeans.conf) must be extended via the option -J-Dsun.java2d.opengl=true

Code:
netbeans_default_options="-J-server -J-DAM_CONFIG_FILE=\"/usr/local/SUNWappserver/addons/amserver/AMConfig.properties\" -J-Dcom.sun.aas.installRoot=\"/usr/local/SUNWappserver\" -J-Xms128m -J-Xmx512m -J-XX:PermSize=64m -J-XX:MaxPermSize=160m -J-Xverify:none -J-Dapple.laf.useScreenMenuBar=true -J-Dorg.netbeans.modules.j2ee.jboss4.installRoot=/usr/local/jboss-4.0.4.GA -J-Dsun.java2d.opengl=true"
- or tvbrowser (tvbrowser.sf.net)
it should be started with the option -Dsun.java2d.opengl=true

Here is my start script:
Code:
#!/bin/sh
cd /usr/local/tvbrowser
/usr/local/java/bin/java -server -Xms16m -Xmx128m  -Djava.library.path=/usr/local/tvbrowser/ -Dsun.java2d.opengl=true -jar tvbrowser.jar
The gui after resize is shown correctly, but latency is very high. I must wait 10s or more for the reaction. With 1.0-9755 works everything great

Thanks,
czarnyckm

I'm not able to reproduce this problem here. Does this persist if you're not using the Composite extension in X?

I just disabled Composite extension in X and now works everything fine.

Thank you for the solution
