Default Dual Screen Issue

Okay, I having an issue with running dual monitors on my pc.

I am running Mandriva 2007 and I have installed the latest Nvidia drivers, as well as update the kernel. The install went great.

Just recently I used the "nvidia-settings" and I set it up for dual monitors
I am using two LG L204WT LCDs that run at 1680x1050.
I chose to run seperate X screens versus twinview.
One monitor is setup to absolute while the other is "rightof"
It said that I must restart X inorder to run setting.

I continued to the console screen, ctrl-alt-F1, and typed telinit 3
I then continued to type telinit 5; the nvidia logo popped up on both monitors and then dissapeared and gave me some errors

I then continued to try startx and it did the same thing, sometimes it pops up logo 3 times before reporting error.

Any suggestions?

Also: the error I am getting looks like the following.

Could not init font path element unix/:7100, removing from list!

Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'
XIO: fata IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

First see if you can get it to work with one display. Sounds like a problem with your config file for Xorg.

part of my config (dual screen - no twinview, same X but 2 screens). But running Gentoo and config file modified by hand so probably quite different from yours.

I have had it running with single monitor before, I will try and see if I can modify xorg.conf back to one monitor and see what happens.

Ihshaar, my setting looking very similar to yours, with exception to resolution and other details. I am going to also try and change font from the unix 7100 port to some other location.

I will attempt to create bug report problem this evening and hopefully that will provide some enlightenment to my problem.

Thanks

From that, i would gather that there might be something wrong with your mouse...

Remember that X failed to start if it does not find at least 1 pointer.
(font message is just a warning afaik)
