Unhappy GeForce4 420 G0 weird screen Suse 10.2

First things first, am a relative newbie to linux...that said, Toshiba Satellite Pro M10-S405 with Suse 10.2 fine....installed latest nvidia drivers via YasT, then on reboot, black screen which slowly started showing white closing in from the edges meanwhile multi colored lines from top to bottom...as this continued to get whiter and whiter I feared for the hardware so shut down..only solution for me was to reinstall Suse...can anyone help please? I sure would like to use the 3d hardware acceleration. Thank You

You're not alone... I've the same problem on a 5105-701 with a GeForce4 440 GO. Its odd. Does your system also have the intel_agp module loaded?
