Politically correct, but he (probably) meant software used within the OS, yet another piece of software.

I do mine in the BIOS as well.

Check sig for cooling solution. Works like a charm too. 3.2Ghz 1.3V 24/7 stable. Idles @ 32c. Loads usually don't exceed 49c (100% both cores)

It's an expensive cooler, but you get what you pay for.

Are those Tcase (i.e, nTune/Bios) or Tjunction (CoreTemp, TAT) temps?

ntune temps. Should I measure using Coretemp/TAT?

I've been thinking about reapplying some AS5 to the chip to see if that could drop the temps some more. We'll see if this helps.

Your temps are fine. CoreTemp/TAT temps will always be around 15C higher than ntune CPU temps. I prefer CoreTemp becaue it also shows the max shutdown Tjunction temp, which is 85C for CD2. So as long as you keep your load temp below 70C in ntune, you should be fine.

TAT for some reason doesn't work for me. I always get this "Error enumerating On Demand Clock Modulation support " message when trying to start it. I heard it only supported Intel chipsets, and I'm using 680i, so maybe that is the reason why it's not working.

I just tried TAT on my EVGA 680i SLI, and it works fine. It's not the chipset. It's odd that it doesn't work for you though.

I just googled the error message, and it seems it has nothing to do with the Bios setting.
