Well I guess we gonna see a succesor to DirectSound for Vista, the API they use now on the XBOX360 (forgot the name of it)

Xaudio. With proper sound drivers, it is possible to get better audio out of vista than XP due to the rewritten audio stack.

Looks like I'll have to go with an X-Fi in order to use Vista properly. Thanks for the support, Creative.

I would assume the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum's front 5.25" panel is not compatible with the X-Fi. Is that correct?
