It's quite hard to search the forums for tv-out problems, since 'tv' isn't accepted as a search term. So if this is a FAQ, my apologies ;-)
I'm trying to setup my system with independent CRT and TV screens. I want them to have independent resolutions and seperate X screens (both in the same X server of course, so :0.0 and :0.1). However, I can't get this to work. The X server seems to start up fine up until the moment the screen should jump to graphics mode. Then the server aborts with: (II) NVIDIA(0): Logo is 744x537 with depth 24. (II) NVIDIA(0): Setting mode "1600x1200" (EE) NVIDIA(0): The requested configuration of display devices is not (EE) NVIDIA(0): supported in the hardware. Fatal server error: AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0 (II) Screen 0 shares mem & io resources (II) Screen 1 shares mem & io resources (full log in attachment) Is my setup really impossible because the hardware doesn't support it? It's a nVidia Corporation GeForce 7300 LE rev 161. I want 1600x1200@85Hz in 32 bit on my CRT; I've got a normal 4:3 PAL television, so 800x600@50i would be fine I think. I had to shorten the log file a bit because it was over 100 KB. |
