As you can see on my signature, I have three Seagate 320Gb SATA2 on Intel ICH8R. I have one volume on RAID0 for swap file and another, big, on RAID5 for data.

On XP, playing with some beta forceware drivers and PureVideo, my PC got frozen and I had to push reset button. After restart, I got a popup on XP saying that Intel RAID needed checking. It took about two hours.

Well, yesterday I installed Vista into another partition (dual booting now) and during install I pressed reset button because I noticed I didn't format the partition and it was about to install into another Windows folder on the same disk. I started installation again, formatted the partition from Windows Installer and everything went ok, but after installing Intel Matrix driver, again it had to check the entire RAID volume.

My question is... if the computer hangs and we must push the reset button, it has always to re-scan the full RAID volume?. It takes a lot of time.

Again today, Lost Planet demo crashed on XP, had to push reset button. When I entered XP again, the entire RAID had to be checked. Two hours estimated time, this is painfull.

Yes, I have two RAID volumes: one RAID0 and one RAID5. The RAID5 always has to be re-checked if I must hard-reset the PC.
