Default Low resolution on asus with 8400M G and openSUSE 10.2

Can't change the resolution. I have installed the latest NVIDIA driver for x86 on my asus A8Sc labtop with GeForce 8400M G graphic card and running SUSE 10.2. The system now list the card and the driver in sax2. If I then try to change resolution though Yast (graphics setup) and test the setup I get gray or blue screen and no respons. If I just click save nothing happens.

NVIDIA driver: NVIDIA-Linux-x86-100.14.09-pkg1.run

xorg.conf: I have manually added - Option "ModeValidation" "NoDFPNativeResolutionCheck"

Code:
# nvidia-xconfig: X configuration file generated by nvidia-xconfig

Default Re: Low resolution on asus with 8400M G and openSUSE 10.2

I got it working by manually inserting the following in the xorg.conf file:

Code:
Section "Screen"
  DefaultDepth 24
  SubSection "Display"
    Depth 24
    Modes "1440x900"
  EndSubSection
  Device "Device[0]"
  Identifier "Screen[0]"
  Monitor "Monitor[0]"
EndSection
Thank you for a great forum....
